NEC Elections 2018

This summer there will be elections for all 9 members’ representatives on Labour’s governing National Executive Committee (NEC). Nominations opened at the end of January, and close on 22 June.

After receiving 32 applications from Momentum members across the country, a panel representing Momentum’s National Coordinating group conducted a series of interviews to determine the strongest set of candidates, using a person specification available on the Momentum website, followed by discussions with other organisations on the Labour left.

As a result of this process, Momentum will be campaigning for the following candidates, who are also supported by the Campaign for Labour Party Democracy (CLPD), Labour Briefing Co-op, Labour Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (LCND), Jewish Voice for Labour (JVL), and Labour Assembly Against Austerity (LAAA). All nine fully support the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn, and will campaign for a socialist Labour Government. See below for each candidate's statement, which you can pass onto your CLP Secretary so that their nominations may be considered.

If your CLP Secretary asks for a letter directly from one of the candidates, please let us know by writing to [email protected], and please let us know the outcomes of any nominations as well. For further information, please see our website.
